GARY WEST, “THE OUTLAW TRIBUTE KING,” KICKS OFF 2018 WITH REMEMBERING WAYLON SHOW, EP
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
JANUARY 19, 2018 – (Nashville, TN) Country Artist and Musician Gary West sets big plans for 2018 with the announcement of a new show, Remembering Waylon, accompanied by an EP of Waylon Jennings songs due out mid-Spring. The idea for this new show stems from numerous fan requests to do an entire show based on the music of Country Music Hall of Fame member Waylon Jennings. Fans of Gary West and the Fireballs can also expect a full-length album consisting of new material to be released in the calendar year. Very few artists release two project in one year – West does it to show his love for his fans and for the music.
West, dubbed “The Outlaw Tribute King” due to his amazing ability to present a tribute show like no other artist, continues to hit the roads playing real country music for fans all over America. His Winter-into-Spring schedule features stops in Tennessee, Minnesota, Indiana, Illinois, and Florida; he is still adding dates to his tour schedule. West also proves that he is not just a ‘Tribute Artist’ by presenting shows of original music with backing band The Fireballs.
Gary West’s Nashville journey began in 1988 when he and his band were asked to do a tour with Tommy Cash and back him up for 30 dates though most of Texas. Later that year Gary played on the Grand Ole Opry for the first time with his hero, Opry Star Del Reeves. Gary continued to work with many great Opry legends over the years, including 12 years with the legendary Little Jimmy Dickens. He toured with Jett Williams and The Drifting Cowboys (Hank Sr.’s original band with Don Helms and Jerry Rivers), The Legendary Drifters, Melba Montgomery, and backed up artist like Johnny Paycheck, Hank Thompson, Charlie Pride, LuLu Roman, Porter Wagoner, and many more. West now offers three unique shows, For the Love of Cash, a unique tribute show that remembers Cash, Waylon, Haggard, and more; Remembering Waylon, an all-new show remembering the original outlaw Waylon Jennings; and Gary West and the Fireballs, a combination of original music with spot-on impressions.
