Gary West is an American singer/songwriter who produces his own original music. He is an accomplished musician who was the drummer for such legendary country music icons as, Del Reeves, Little Jimmy Dickens, Jett Williams and the Drifting Cowboys and performed many years on the world famous Grand Ole Opry with these artists. West also stars in his own Johnny Cash tribute show, "For the Love of Cash".
Gary West's "For the Love of Cash" show pays homage to Johnny Cash and the legends of country music with a show that is like no other. Gary West is NOT a Johnny Cash impersonator; he is an ENTERTAINER! As well as a producer, songwriter, Nashville recording artist and race car driver. Gary also performed many years as a drummer for Little Jimmy Dickens and Del Reeves on the world famous Grand Ole Opry.
Gary has released three albums to date to include two singles and two of those singles have gone to #1 on the independent music charts. “I Don't do it for the money” was his second #1 song and before that “Jackson", the Johnny and June classic that he recorded with the legendary Leona Williams, who wrote several of Merel Haggard and Loretta Lynn hits.
Gary currently performs a lot of solo acoustic performances both as a concert type show in auditoriums and also a few solo performances on the “Dive Bar” circuit.
Gary has a busy schedule between music performances and his racing stock cars. Racing is one of his greatest passions. He raced the 2023 season in the #27 Mid Am Sportsman car and ran the NASCAR Weekly series in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
